EnosSlaughter.com is an unofficial website in memory of the late, great
professional baseball player nicknamed "Country". Many fans
who have been around the game for some time know how Enos brought the
punch and was 'old school' with his style, effort, and passion for the
game. Slaughter played 22 seasons with the Cardinals, Yankees, Braves
and Athletics; and was a 10-time All-Star. He finished his career with
an impressive .300 batting average, and was elected to Basball's Hall
of Fame in 1985.
The vintage
style of the site will hopefully bring back some memories of the past
and let some of you think back to your childhood days when baseball
opitimized our nation and brought fans young and old together on a sunny
afternoon. For a good portion of visitors, your visit might be a brief
history lesson of what baseball was like in the 1930's, 40's and '50's.
"I
played baseball at the best time in history. I've been to a lot of old-timers'
games and, staying at the hotels with the visiting teams, you never
see two players going out together. They're all too busy worrying about
their money to have a good time." -- The Late Enos "Country"
Slaughter
